BATHROOM WATER LEAK IN COOPER CITY

2/15/2022 (Permalink)

Finding the cause of the bathroom flood before doing water extraction Bathroom leak flooded many rooms in their Cooper City home.

After a long day at work, a Cooper City resident came home to a horrible, watery mess. Their bathroom floor was flooded and apparently, water traveled throughout their house. SERVPRO of East Davie/Cooper City was called to mitigate and remove the water.

FINDING THE CAUSE OF THE LEAK

Once SERVPRO finds out what was the cause of the water leak, we then confirm where the water went. Boy does water travel. Our techs used moisture detection equipment to confirm the areas of water migration. This eliminates the guesswork for where the water seeped into the subfloor.  We then see if and where the tile needs to be removed in the bathroom to dry the subfloor.

WATER REMOVAL OR EXTRACTION

SERVPRO technicians have different types of water removal equipment to ensure they can handle each water loss situation right. In the case of a household, portable pumps are convenient to take into small spaces such as under the bathroom sink after removing the toe kick on the cabinet. The extractor wands fit underneath for speedy removal of the moisture.

MONITORING THE DRYING PROCESS

Before beginning the drying process, our SERVPRO techs take air measurements in other areas of the home to set drying goals. This ensures the water loss areas return to the same interior humidity levels as the rest of the house. During drying, they take readings regularly to make sure the process is happening as planned and drying goals get attained.
